Sticky Cuts / Glitter Flower Card

 Well, what can I say about this card?  It has everything that I love on it.  I started with Pink Pirouette CS then used our new Eyelet Border Punch pg.185 to edge a sheet of DSP from Bella Rose pg.159.  I then tied  our 1 1/4" Pink Pirouette Grosgrain Ribbon pg.179 around and used the Pretties Kit pg.175 to embellish the ribbon.  Now for the flower, I used our Sticky Cuts pg.180 and our Fine Supernova Glitter pg. 180.  You peel the back off of the flower and attach it to the place you want it.  Then take our Hobby Blade pg. 189 and a ruler to gently cut through the pink top layer.  You can cut in any direction or design you would like.  Do all of your cutting first, then remove the pink top layer one strip at a time.  Sprinkle glitter on that part and tap off.  Move to the next strip and remove it and sprinkle glitter and tap off.  Continue until all of the image is covered with glitter.  There are many combinations of colored glitter you can use including our Dazzling Diamonds glitter.   I then adhered a half pearl from the Pretties Kit using our Tombow Glue pg.191.   This is  so easy and looks like you took alot of time.  Much more beautiful in person....of course they all are.   Have a Blessed Day!

Parisian Breeze DSP

 Here is another card made with the vellum technique there I stamped with Basic Brown Ink and then colored on the back with markers.  I layered with Parisian Breeze DSP and used our new Cordury Buttons.  This card is so much prettier in person.  Also I made a box with the Basket Big Shot Die using the same DSP along with a small tag from the leftovers.  Thanks to Sharon, I am now in Vellum Mode!   Woo!  Hoo!  Also check out the new garden set in the Spring Occasions Mini.  So gorgeous.

My First Stamping Question

I am so excited to answer my first stamping question which was asked by Sharon.  By the way, she received a package of our new Printed Window Sheets Pg.10 of our Occasions Mini FREE! just for submitting a question on my Blog.  Thank you Sharon!

Anyway, Sharon wanted to know which ink works best when stamping onto Vellum.  My first response is to use Stazon pg. 190 because it is best for stamping onto non-porous surfaces.  It dries quickly and is easy to work with.  It is a permanent ink, so be careful not to get it on your clothing.

In addition, I have use Basic Black, Basic Gray and Basic Brown all found on pg. 153.  You do need to let it dry for a little while, but it also does quite well.   When using these inks, you should turn the vellum over and color on the back side because these inks are not as permanent as Stazon and may bleed.  All of them have a lovely effect.  Tomorrow I will post a card using the Basic Brown ink. I chose it because it went well with the DSP.   Check back tomorrow to see another example of this technique.

God's Beauty Butterfly

 Isn't this about the most beautiful stamp set on the Hostess Set list?   I just love it!   I have stamped onto Cardstock Vellum pg.156 with Black Stazon Ink.  I chose Stazon because it is great for stamping onto non-porous surfaces, like glass, plastic, etc.   It dries quickly and you can actually color on the stamped side; however I love turning the vellum over and coloring on the back side using markers.  There is something magical about this technique.  It hardly shows any mistakes or flaws.  The DSP called Flock Together was used underneath to add some dimension.  Layered onto Tempting Turquoise CS and embellished with Filigree Designer Brads pg. 175 this makes a striking card.  I hope you give this technique a try.  You will be amazed at how beautiful your card will turn out.

God's Beauty Flower

Here is one that was stamped onto cardstock vellum using Black Stazon Ink.   I then turned the vellum over and colored onto the back with markers.  Designer Paper used is Flock Together pg. 161. 

Brad Tip

When I put a brad, any brad, on a card or scrapbooking page, I always turn the project over.  I then take my bone folder down through the prongs to open them and then press them out flat.  Then I take the flat side of the bone folder and push hard on the back of the brad to flatten the brad.  I have found this saves my fingernails, keeps me from being poked and minimizes the bulkiness that tends to make out projects cost more when going through the mail.   Just cannot live without this embellishment.

Ink Spot Tip

Do you own our Stampin' Spots?  I just learned from SU Demo Support that you should NOT store your Stampin' Spots upside down.  (which I did)   Because they are so small, SU fills them as full as possible before shipping.  (Aside note: they are filled by hand.....cool, huh?)  However since they are filled so full, storing them upside down may cause them to leak.   Just when you think you know what you are doing......someone shows you differently.   Have a great day!

Inspired by Nature

  And Inspired by Nature this card is!   I love this technique.  Use Glossy CS and stamp a circle with VersaMark Ink.  Then use a dauber to blend in the colors you want to create the beautiful sky.  I used Barely Banana, Bordering Blue and Brocade Blue inks. Then Mellow Moss for the green.  On top of that, stamp Always Artichoke grass and Night of Navy flowers.  I then layered with Night of Navy and Barely Banana CS.  Nothing more needed for this inspiring design.  Stamping over the top of this technique with Basic Black ink or Black Stazon also makes a stunning card.  Give it a try with different colors.....I would love to see them.

Tip of the Week

Do you Burnish your items together when you adhere them?   Burnishing means to rub when you adhere items together using the Bone Folder.  You can also Burnish color onto cardstock using a sponge or dauber.  Your projects will stay together better if you Burnish them when you are finished.  I just turn them over and take my Bone Folder and rub back and forth for a few seconds to help it adhere.  I do this when I use Snail and our Anywhere Glue stick.  Give it a try!
